Bridgerton‘s break out star Regé-Jean Page may have left the series, but he has not left the streaming service Netflix. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Page will be starring in a project written and directed by Noah Hawley. The untitled project is a “heist thriller,” and will be produced via Hawley’s 26 Keys production company and in partnership with AGBO’s Joe and Anthony Russo and Mike Larocca.
Further plot details for are being held back for now, Deadline reports. Larocca gave a statement on the announcement, saying, “AGBO was originally founded to allow us to collaborate with artists we greatly respect and admire. We are very happy to continue to fulfill that pledge by supporting this new film from Noah Hawley and Regé-Jean Page.”
Page has been blowing up ever since viewers fell in love with him as Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, but he confirmed his exit from the show in April with an Instagram post.

“The ride of a life time,” he wrote. “It’s been an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be your Duke. Joining this family – not just on screen, but off screen too. Our incredibly creative and generous cast, crew, outstanding fans – it’s all been beyond anything I could have imagined. The love is real and will just keep growing.”
Page hinted in a recent interview with British GQ that he was still open to making a cameo in the next season, responding to questions about it by saying, “Isn’t there something wonderful about being surprised by what you weren’t suspecting?”
The show has not confirmed anything, however, and Shonda Rhimes herself encouraged people to keep enjoying Page on Bridgerton—by rewatching Season 1.

Meanwhile, this is Page’s second film with the Russo brothers; he acted beside Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling in their upcoming film The Gray Man. Page has landed some other notable roles recently, and will be starring in the reboot of The Saint and was cast in another Paramount picture based on role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons. It’s even been rumored that he may be the James Bond to follow Daniel Craig. Maybe then Bridgerton fans will finally forgive him for moving on.
