Kardinal Offishall and Pree opened the show with a performance of their hit single “Winner”
Toronto Fashion Week Day 2 was all about rockstar glam as HENDRIXROE’s Fall/Winter 2018 collection of men’s and women’s wear took to the runway at Yorkville Village. Energizing the full house of fashion elite, celebrities, and influencers, rapper Kardinal Offishall and singer Pree opened the show with an exclusive live performance of their hit single “Winner” which had the crowds energized and enthused.
Notable attendees included k-os, Natasha Negovanlis (Carmilla), Meghan Heffern (UnREAL, Wynonna Earp), Taveeta, Shannon Kook (Shadowhunters, The Conjuring), and Alicia Dea (Degrassi), Annie Briggs (Carmilla), Blaise Moore, Curtis Smith, Ammoye, Sean Jones, and Leondro.
Never one to comply with societal norms, each design by fashion rockstar darling and designer Jordan McKay is an extension of her vibrant and exuberant personality; this season, the collection, entitled “Forget Me Not”, captures the rebellious nature of the designer while remembering and honouring those who fight daily for love and equality.
“Fashion is this amazing platform where no one should tell you what the rules are. I will and always fight for equality,” says McKay, “I will always use my platform to empower humans of all backgrounds and this season I want to honour those who empower others and who fight for love, light, and happiness.”
As with previous seasons, colour rules supreme in fabrics in varying textures and tones, from colourful tweeds, cottons, delicate silks, wools, and of course, the now classic metallic leathers the brand has become known for. As Canadian fashion legend Jeanne Beker said shows like HENDRIXROE are what made her fall in love with fashion in the first place; something loyal fans and followers have known since day one.
HENDRIXROE retails from $150 to $5,000 CND and is designed in Toronto. For retailer announcements or to purchase, visit hendrixroe.com.
